Lions Take Series From Texas State

Freshman LHP Jordan Hymel pitched seven solid innings, Chris Franklin earned his seventh save, and the Lion hitters got some key 2 out hits as SLU won their 5th Southland Conference series with a 9-6 victory over 1st place Texas State. With the win the 23rd ranked Lions move to 29-9 on the season and 12-6 in the SLC. SLU now sits 1 game out of the top spot in the standings.

Hymel threw 7 innings giving up 5 runs on 4 hits while earning his 6th win of the season. The Lions were led at the plate by Justin Boudreaux who went 2-4 with 3 RBI and Chris Franklin who was 2-5 with 2 2B and 3 RBI.

SLU returns to action on Tuesday night as they travel to New Orleans to face the Tulane Green Wave. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
