Series Losers But Good Sports

The 2010 fall world series is in the books but the Green Team, the series victor, continues to reap the rewards.

Besides owning this years bragging rights, they will dine on steak and potatoes at the players annual christmas party while the Gold Team's feast will feature beans and weenies.

And the Winner Is...

The Heart of a Lion competition ended this week with a paint ball war.  Senior outfielder Cass Hargis' "Baby Bulls" remained in the lead after outscoring Senior Josh Cryer's "Papa Bulls" in the swimming relay on Tuesday.  The "Baby Bulls" continued to dominate as they downed the "Papa Bulls" at the paint ball event.  Congratulations to the 2010-2011 Heart of a Lion competition winner, the "Baby Bulls"!

No Time for Rest

Students at Midway Elementary tackle Bear Sparacino
The Lion baseball players continue to be active in the community.  During the fall the team spends time at local schools helping serve in many different capacities.  They assist in the libraries, classrooms, and cafeterias.

Always Competing...

Currently the Lion baseball team is competing for the annual "Heart of a Lion" championship.  This is an inter-squad competition where the players are divided into two teams selected by seniors Josh Cryer and Cass Hargis.  Last week's challenges were an obstacle course, push-up/pull-up competition, and a 2 mile cross country run.  This week's events consist of a swim relay and a paint ball war.  Hargis' team is ahead in the standings going into the final two events.  Who will be crowned the coveted "Heart of a Lion" this year?
