After routing Jackson State 13-1 at The Pat on Tuesday night the Lions logged some miles, as they headed to Tulsa, OK to face Oral Roberts in a Southland Conference series.
As the offensive struggles continued SLU could not find a way to keep the Golden Eagles off the board. As a result the Lions loss their second consecutive conference series. Oral Roberts won Friday night 6-2, as the Lions could not overcome the Golden Eagles' five run first inning. On Saturday SLU rebounded with a 4-3 victory behind a solid pitching performance by Tate Scioneaux. But in the rubber match on Sunday Oral Roberts won going way 9-1 to clinch the series.
SLU now sits at 24-13 overall and 8-4 in league play. The Lions are currently in a four way tie for the conference lead with Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. This weekend SLU travels to Nacogdoches, TX to face Stephen F. Austin.
