SLU Alumni Baseball Game

The Southeastern Louisiana Baseball Alumni game will be held on Saturday February 5 at "The Pat".  Any former Lion baseball players interested in playing for Team Alumni should contact Chad Catalano at starsbaseball31@yahoo.com  More details about the game will be released in the next few weeks.

Inside Lions Baseball wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Opening weekend is set for February 18-20 at Florida International in Miami, FL.  Friday and Saturday's games can be seen on ESPN3 and Sunday's game is being televised live on ESPNU.  The Lions home opener is Tuesday February 22 against Tulane at "The Pat".  First pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm.

To get an inside look at what it is like to be a member of the 2011 Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team, ILB has asked senior RHP Tyler Watkins to write a weekly journal giving the Lion Nation a behind the scenes look at one of the top programs in the Southland Conference.

Congratulations Graduates

Southeastern LA University held its fall commencement on December 11, 2010.  We'd like to congratulate the following former Lion baseball players on their graduation:
Ryan Boudreaux (2009-10), Chris Ernest (2008-10), Phillip Freeman (2007-10), and Andrew Hickman (2007-08).

Kristin Waguespack, office assistant, also received her diploma.  Kristin worked as a student worker for the SLU Athletic Department; serving 4 seasons with the baseball program.

Congratulations to these student-athletes and thank you for your contributions to the Lion baseball program.  We're proud of you!

Congratulations Joe Sparacino

Inside Lions Baseball would like to congratulate Lions 1B/DH Joe "Bear" Sparacino on receiving his college degree from Southeastern on Saturday.  The Alabaster, AL native earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Studies.

Rivals.com Looks at 10 Things College Baseball Needs

Earlier this week Kendall Rogers of rivals.com took a look at 10 Things to help improve college baseball.  One of the issues he addressed is more television coverage of college baseball.  With SLU and Florida International playing on ESPNU opening weekend and seven SEC Games of the Week on ESPNU  it is a step in the right direction.
