SLU lost its first home game of the season to South Alabama on Tuesday night 13-7 but bounced back by winning four straight road games. The Lions won at Jackson State on Wednesday and then swept Northwestern State in Natchitoches in the first weekend of Southland Conference play. SLU is now 18-7 on the season and 3-0 in SLC action, as they are tied for first with Oral Roberts. The Lions on currently on a four game winning streak and are 8-2 in their last ten games.

SLU's weekend series sweep over Northwestern State was their 4th weekend series sweep of the season. Through the first six weeks of the season the Lions have yet to lose a weekend series.
Senior LHP Jordan Hymel earned his 20th career win in the Lions 3-2 victory over Northwestern State on Sunday. Hymel move into 5th place on the school's all-time wins list. The school record is 25 wins held by Kenny Lerhmann.
Sophomore C/DH Sam Roberson extended his hitting streak to 15 games. Roberson has recorded a hit in 20 of the 22 games he has played in this season.
Kaleb "Mamou" Manuel was lights out with his performance in the Lions 7-4 victory at Jackson State on Wednesday night. Helping the Lions to their first road win of the season, Mamou pitched a complete game giving up three earned runs on five hits and fanning a career high 10 batters. The senior from Mamou, LA earned his second win in as many appearances.
The Lions bullpen was nearly perfect in their weekend series sweep over Northwestern State. Freshmen Mason Klotz and Kyle Cedotal, along with junior Dylan Hills combined to throw 10.4 innings giving up no runs on four hits and striking out 11 Demons while issuing only two walks. Cedotal picked up his third win of the season and Klotz grabbed his second save. Hills, who has six saves on the season, picked up two saves over the weekend.
Leading the way at the plate this weekend was freshman C/1B/DH Jameson Fisher and senior OF Harry Slade. Fisher hit .400 (8-20) for the week picking up three multi hit games. Slade finished the week hitting .333 (7-21) with two 2B's and six RBI's.
As a staff, the SLU pitchers rank 2nd in the SLC in ERA (3.22), runs allowed (92), earned runs allowed (79) and walks allowed (76). Offensively the SLU hitters rank 2nd in the SLC in sac bunts (28), 3rd in runs scored (141), 4th in on-base percentage (.362) and walks (96), 5th in RBI's (122) and hit by pitches (29) and rank third with the fewest strikeouts (145).
Leader Board - Sean Kennel leads the Southland Conference in both ERA (1.74) and wins (4), as Dylan Hills leads the league in saves with six. Freshman Tate Scioneaux ranks 6th in strike outs with 36 and 10th with a .229 opponents batting average. For the hitters Harry Slade continues to rank in the top 10 in multiple categories, as he is 6th in hitting (.355) and stolen bases (8), 5th in hits (33), 2nd in RBI's (22) and 8th in total bases (44). Jesse Buratt ranks 7th in runs scored with 19, Aaron Haag is 6th in RBI's with 20, Jameson Fisher is 6th in hit by pitches and Sam Roberson ranks 2nd in sac bunts with 6.
