Lucas Receives Academic Excellence Award

Senior catcher Torin Lucas was named the Male Academic Excellence Award Winner at Southeastern Louisiana University's sixth annual Spring Athletic Academic Banquet on Monday.  Lucas, a Sports Management major, was named to the President's List with a 4.0 GPA during the Fall 2011 semester. 

Lions Baseball Excels in the Classroom

Once again the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team has excelled in the classroom. During the Fall semester the Lions finished with a cumulative team GPA of 3.16. The Lions had 24 out of 35 players post a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with 4 student-athletes posting a 4.0 GPA.

As they have done each season under head coach Jay Artigues, the Lions baseball team continues to put the student in student-athlete.

Making the Grade

To say the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team excelled on the diamond in 2009 would sell these student-athletes short. Not only did they complete one of the most successful seasons in school history, but the Lions also put up some impressive numbers in the classroom.
