Senior catcher Torin Lucas was named the Male Academic Excellence Award Winner at Southeastern Louisiana University's sixth annual Spring Athletic Academic Banquet on Monday. Lucas, a Sports Management major, was named to the President's List with a 4.0 GPA during the Fall 2011 semester.
As a team the Lions earned a 3.16 GPA for the Fall 2011 semester, with 25 members earning a 3.0 or better.
The banquet, sponsored by La Capitol Credit Union, recognized members from all of Southeastern's 15 Division I athletic programs.
