The Gold team claimed an 8-7 victory in Game 1 of the Fall World Series with a walk-off walk. The teams combined for 18 hits, with 13 coming from the Gold team. But it was a bases loaded walk that gave the Gold team the victory.
The Gold team was cruising with a 6-1 lead when the Green team scored 4 runs in the top half of the sixth inning. The Gold team quickly answered plating 1 run in the home half of the sixth. A two run homerun by the Green team knotted the score at 7. In the bottom of the eighth with the bases loaded the Gold team drew a walk for the the 8-7 victory and a 1-0 lead in the five game series.
The series will resume today with Game 2 slated for 5:00.
