Green Evens Series at 2, Winner Take All Set for Sunday

If anything can be said of Coach Jay Artigues' 2010 Lion baseball team it is that they will be a very competitive bunch. After being down 2-0 in the Fall World Series, the Green team has stormed back and has taken control of the series with a 6-5 victory on Family Day at Alumni Field.
The Gold team scored quickly as they scored a run in the top of the first inning. However, the lead was short lived as the Green team scored 1 run in the bottom on the first and scored another run in the second. The Green Men then broke the game open with 3 more runs in the third all while great pitching held the Gold team scoreless . Feeding off the Family Day crowd the Gold team showed their competitive side as they began to creep back into the contest by scoring a run in the fourth and fifth innings. The Green team got one back in the bottom of the fifth but the Gold team wouldn‘t go away. The Gold team rallied to pick up two more runs in the sixth. Then in the top half of the seventh with tying run on second and the go ahead run on first the Green team’s pitching stepped up and left the runners stranded for the victory.

The victory for the Green sets up a winner take all game on Sunday at noon for the Fall World Series title.

Game 1 - Gold 8 Green 7
Game 2 - Gold 6 Green 3
Game 3 - Green 6 Gold 1
Game 4 - Green 6 Gold 5
Game 5 - Sunday November 8 at noon
