The Lions join Texas State as the only Southland Conference members to receive votes. The Lions are also one of four teams that are ranked from the state of Louisiana, joining LSU, Tulane, and Southern. Texas, LSU, Virginia, Cal State Fullerton, and Arizona State occupy the Top 5 spots in the pre-season poll.
The Lions open the 2010 season against Eastern Illinois on Friday February 19 at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm.
