With the popularity of college baseball at an all-time high these days, much thanks should be given to the folks over at ESPN. When the hardcore college baseball fans moaned that baseball needed more airtime they delivered with coverage of the Super Regionals, along with their annual showcase of the College World Series.
Then the "stitch-heads" (you are welcome Eric Sorenson) wondered what would happen if a major network went all in and covered baseball much like college basketball.
