ILB Players of the Week - Week 12

Inside Lions Baseball has named Stefan Lopez and Harry Slade as the Players of the Week for week 12 of the 2012 season.

Pitcher of the Week - Jr Closer Stefan Lopez
Lopez became the Southland Conference All-Time Saves Leader as he earned two saves during the week.  In the Lions 6-3 win at South Alabama Lopez ended any hopes of a Jaguar comeback as he induced a game ending ground out to second base to retire the only hitter he faced.  The save tied him for the SLC career lead.  Then on Friday night he became the SLC Saves King picking up career save number 28, as he shut the door on Stephen F Austin in the Lions 4-3 victory.  For good measure the New Iberia, LA native earned a win in the Lions 12-11 series clinching victory over SFA on Sunday.  For the week Lopez surrendered one run on four hits over 3.1 innings and fanned four..

Hitter of the Week - Jr OF Harry Slade
Slade led the way at the plate hitting .474 (9-14) and recording at least two hits in each game helping the Lions to a 3-1 week.  The Baltimore, MD native went 3-5 with a run scored and a stolen base in the Lions 6-3 win at South Alabama.  In Sunday's wild 12-11 victory over Stephen F. Austin Slade's two run double capped off a seven run inning in the 7th giving the Lions a 10-11 lead. For the week Slade had two doubles, two RBI's, a stolen base and five runs scored.
