ILB Talks Tailgating

With a little more than a month until Southeastern throws out the first pitch of the 2010 season, Inside Lions Baseball is talking tailgating. What started as a small gathering of friends grilling burgers and hot dogs is now turning into a weekend feast. And the Lion tailgating is just gaining momentum!

Over the last few seasons tailgaters have taken full advantage of the grills that are in the grassy area between the right field parking lot and the Dugas Center on the Southeastern campus. Along with the grills, there’s also picnic tables and tall pine trees that make for some welcoming shade on those warm May afternoons.

It is not uncommon to see RV’s pulled into the area hosting “Countdown to First Pitch” parties with their Southeastern flags flying high, grills smoking, and pots of jambalaya cooking. If you are lucky you might even encounter some crawfish boils south Louisiana style.

For the 2010 season Inside Lions Baseball would like to see the tailgating reach an all-time high. We are encouraging all Lion fans to bring their RV’s, tents, chairs, food, beverages, music, and anything else to help get the “Lion Nation” ready for the game. All spots are on a first come-first served basis. Show up early and be in that number!

NAME THE TALGATING AREA
We want to have the best tailgating in the Southland Conference, so… we need a name for the tailgating area. Please e-mail ILB at insidelionsbaseball@gmail.com or leave a comment at the end of this article with your suggestions.

Go Green! Go Gold! GO LIONS!!!
