Rain Postpones Intra-Squad

With heavy rains in the Hammond area today’s intra-squad has been postponed. The Lions will intra-squad on Saturday at noon, Sunday at 1:00, and Monday at 2:30. All intra-squads are free and open to the public. As a reminder all games are subject to change to due to the weather.

The annual pre-season banquet is scheduled for Saturday at 6:00pm in Twelve Oaks on the Southeastern campus. Tickets are $25 per person.

Banners, New Wind Screen Added to Alumni Field

When Lion fans show up at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field they will notice some nice improvements that have been added to the outfield bleachers and under the main concourse.

Lion Closer Named to NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List

Southeastern Louisiana’s Chris Franklin has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year watch list, the association announced today. The Stopper of the Year award is given to the nation’s top relief pitcher at the end of the season.

Final 3 Names for Tailgating Area Announced

The Lion Nation gave us plenty of great names for the Southeastern baseball tailgating area. And ILB’s job was pretty tough to narrow it down to just one name.

On Deck This Week

The Southeastern baseball team will look to begin it first team practices of the spring this week as they play three intra-squad games over the weekend. The Lions will be playing Friday (3:00), Saturday (noon), and Sunday (1:00) at Alumni Field. All intra-squads are free and open to the public. Please remember times are subject to change due to the weather.

Coach Jay Artigues and the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team will be hosting its annual Pre-Season Banquet on Saturday, January 30 at 6:00pm. This years banquet will be held at Twelve Oaks on the Southeastern campus.

Journey to Omaha Begins Today

The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team will gather for the first time this spring when the players report to Hammond for a team meeting this evening. The team meeting will serve as a way for the players and coaches to refocus and pick up where they left off in the fall and begin their preparations for their journey through the 2010 season. A journey that the Lions want to end in late June in Omaha.

Southeastern Set to Host Pre-Season Baseball Banquet

Coach Jay Artigues announced Thursday that the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team will be hosting its annual Pre-Season Banquet on Saturday, January 30 at 6:00pm. This years banquet will be held at Twelve Oaks on the Southeastern campus and will feature alumni guest speaker Billy Ladner. Ladner was a 1961 All-American. The Lion’s senior speaker will be RHP Cole Catalano. Also the 2010 Lions will be introduced.

ILB Talks Tailgating

With a little more than a month until Southeastern throws out the first pitch of the 2010 season, Inside Lions Baseball is talking tailgating. What started as a small gathering of friends grilling burgers and hot dogs is now turning into a weekend feast. And the Lion tailgating is just gaining momentum!
