Jeff Harkensee finished a double short of hitting for the cycle and Brock Hebert launched a three run homerun as the SLU Lions beat the UNO Privateers 15-5 in a game shortened to eight innings due to the mercy rule. The Lions collected 15 hits and overcame four errors as they ran their record to 28-15 on the season. Matt Pittari picked up his first collegiate win, as he pitched 4.1 innings in relief. Pittari surrendered two runs on two hits and struck out five.
SLU heads to Huntsville, TX this weekend to face Sam Houston State in a huge Southland Conference series. The Lions and Bearkats are tied for third in the SLC standings along with Texas-Arlington. All three teams sit two games behind leaders Texas State and Stephen F. Austin.
