The dominance over UL-Lafayette continued for the SLU Lions as they beat the Ragin Cajuns in Lafayette 6-2 for their seventh straight victory over their in state rivals. With the win the Lions sweep the season series for the third consecutive season.
Jordan Hymel picked up his 4th win of the season, his second over ULL, as he pitched 5.2 innings giving up two runs on four hits and striking out five. Jason Greenleaf earned his first save of the season as he pitched 3.1 innings giving up no runs and no hits. Greenleaf struck out four. SLU put the game away in the 5th inning on a bases clearing double by Josh Cryer that extended the Lions lead to 6-1.
With the win the Lions move to 27-15 on the season and are 6-1 against the Sun Belt Conference. The Lions face UNO on Wednesday night at "The Pat". First pitch is slated for 6pm.
