Lions Picked Top Cat in SLC by College Baseball Today

In his annual college baseball national preview, College Baseball Today's Eric Sorenson has picked the SLU Lions to win the the 2011 Southland Conference.  Defending conference champ Texas State is picked a close second.  Rounding out the top five are Stephen F. Austin, Northwestern State, and Sam Houston State.

Sorenson, who gives college baseball fans (stitch-heads) the most in-depth and colorful conference previews around, breaks down the 2011 SLC race in his conference preview this morning. To view the 2011 SLC Preview click the link below.

Other notes from his preview:
Can't Miss Series of the Year:  SLU at Texas State (Apr 15-17)

Best Non-Conference Series:  SLU at Florida International (Feb 18-20)

  Hot Coach:  Jay Artigues, SLU

Three Non-Conference Series SLC Opponents Better Take Seriously:  Number 1 on the list is SLU at the Jaguar Classic(vs Alabama, South Alabama, and Central Florida)

Eric Sorenson will also be writing for ESPN this season, and as he mentions ESPN and the college baseball media will be all over the SLU/FIU opening series on February 18-20.  So if you happen to run across him in Miami give him some props for the great job he does with promoting college baseball.  You can even invite him to the "The Pat".
