In game one of the South Alabama Classic the Southeastern Lions (4-1) racked up 15 hits and Brandon Efferson scattered seven hits over seven innings as the Lions defeated Alabama (4-1) 6-2. Efferson who picked up his second win of the season recorded four strike outs. Jason Greenleaf pitched two innings of scoreless relief. Once again the SLU lineup continued to put pressure on an opponent. Of the lions 15 hits, six went for extra bases, including Jeff Harkensee's 3rd home run of the season. What is becoming a common theme, seven Lions recorded a multi hit game, lead by Jonathan Pace going 3-5.
