The Southeastern baseball team continued to stay hot as they beat South Alabama 6-4 on Sunday to capture the South Alabama Jaguar Classic championship and move to 6-1 on the season. SLU finished strong, as they plated one run in 7th, 2 runs in the 8th, and one more in the 9th to seal the come from behind victory. Junior SS Justin Boudreaux was named the tournament MVP.
The Lions, who outscored Alabama, Central Florida, and South Alabama 19-8 over the weekend, had double digit hits for the fourth consecutive game. Cass Hargis led the way at the plate going 3-5 with a 2B and RBI. Dylan Hills picked up his first collegiate win and Setfan Lopez earned his second save of the season.
SLU travels to Baton Rouge on Tuesday to face LSU. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30pm.
