Lions Ranked Among Top Mid-Majors

The Southeastern Lions were ranked among the top Mid-Major programs in the country when College Baseball Daily released their 2011 Mid-Major Preseason Top 25 poll this morning.  The Lions rolled in at number 17.  TCU, a College World Series participant last season, was the number 1 ranked Mid-Major.

Southeastern was one of two teams ranked from the Southland Conference, as Texas State was ranked number 13.  UL-Lafayette was the only other Louisiana school ranked, coming in one spot ahead of SLU at number 16.  College Baseball Daily will release their Mid-Major Top 25 poll every Monday morning throughout the season.

Here is what CBD had to say about Southland Conference:
#13 Texas State had a very solid season last year (38-22) and is in position to improve on that with 6/9 position players and 2/3 weekend starter back. Another Southland team that made a nice run last year but came up a little short is #17 SE Louisiana(40-19) who returns 8/9 starters and 2/3 weekend starters. Look for Texas St. and SE Louisiana to be at the top of the Southland once again in 2011.
