Lions Win Series in Impressive Fashion

Sunday night in front of an ESPN audience the Southeastern Lions put on a display of what a complete team looks like.  What you saw were the Lions getting seven hits, drawing seven walks by forcing FIU pitchers into unfavorable counts, three batters were hit by pitches, two monster HR's, and they forced the Panther's into five errors.   And let's not forget the pitching gem senior RHP Tyler Watkins threw.

All in all the Lions leave Miami with a series win against  one of the top mid-major teams in the country.  A series win that came on the road, in a hostile environment, and in front of a national ESPN audience.  SLU now looks ahead to their home opener on Tuesday night against in-state rival Tulane.  First pitch is slated for 6pm.

Cass Hargis became the school's all time leader in runs scored when Justin Boudreaux's double scored him in the 8th inning.  Hargis passed Ty Summerlin with 177 runs scored.

Justin Boudreaux and Jeff Harkensee hit their first HR of the 2011 season.Harkensee hit a shot to RF that cleared the fence in a hurry while Boudreaux hit a towering moon shot that cleared the light pole in LF.  The Lions have 3 HR on the season.
