Lions Fall in Series Opener, Look for Revenge Today

In what was one of the loudest crowds this season at “The Pat” the Lions brought the winning run to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th. However, Northwestern State’s career saves leader, Chad Sheppard, was able to induce a fly out to centerfield and a ground out to second to secure the 8-5 win for the Demons. With the loss SLU dropped to 21-10 and now lead the Demons by a half game. With Texas State’s win over Texas-Arlington the Lions sit one game behind the Bobcats with two to play.

Jeff Harkensee led the Lions at the plate as he went 2-5 with a 3B and 4 RBI. Joe Sparacino was 1-4 as he launched his 7th homerun of the season.

But the great thing about college baseball is you get to come right back and play the next day. So Lion Nation lets top last nights crowd of 1,039 and make the “The Pat” electric once again as the Lions look to move a game closer to the SLC championship.
