College Baseball Today Shows the Lions Some Love

With SLU’s 6-0 start and series win over Mississippi State yesterday Eric Sorensen of College Today is giving the Lions some love. Checkout Eric’s comments from his Friday First Takes and Saturday Statements features on his website collegebaseballtoday.com.

After Friday’s win over Mississippi State:

Part 2: Southeastern Louisiana won at Mississippi State 4-1.
The Lions get the single raised eyebrow for sweeping Eastern Illinois last week. Today, they get the full “wow” (no exclamation point attached yet), for giving MSU a dose of their own medicine and pulling out a 9th inning win by breaking open a 1-1 tie. After loading the bases in the 9th, Joe Sparacino and Trey Martin got RBI singles.

After Saturday’s series clinching win over State:

Southeastern Louisiana.
Won for the second straight day at Mississippi State, 8-5.
Consider this the official announcement that SLU is THE team to beat in the Southland Conference for 2010. Chad Livingston’s two-run double in the 3rd put the Lions ahead for good.
