Nothing Lean about this Sweeping Win

With a 14-7 victory over the SFA Lumberjacks, the Lions completed their second consecutive conference series sweep.  After taking all three from Sam Houston last weekend at The Pat, SLU went on the road for a little house cleaning and handed the Jacks their first sweep of the year.

The Lions defeated the Jacks by a total score of 31-14 on the weekend.  With solid pitching, sound defense, and tough hitters Southeastern bumps their record to 39-14 on the year.  Speaking of bumps, Lion hitters may have a few as it seems that SFA pitching found flesh more than they found the strikezone hitting 12 batters on the weekend.  Jacks fans may call it "leaning", but I call it standing your ground & taking it for the team!  Come on SFA fans, if your pitchers could throw the ball across the plate and not into the box, you'd have nothing to complain about....there was no leaning involved...only a lot of toughness!

With 39 wins the 2010 Lions record the most wins in a single-season in school history.  And, with a conference record of 21-9, this year's team matches the 2009 Lions with the most conference wins in SLU history.

Extra! Extra!  Justin Boudreaux's 9 RBI weekend pushes him to the top of the conference leader board with 59 runs batted in.
And, Cody Gougler's 2 hit- Sunday marked his 100th & 101st career hits.
