With the Lions finishing the week 2-3, including dropping the weekend series on the road to Lamar, they fell seven spots to number 43 in Prefect Game's Top 50 poll this week. SLU dropped a mid-week contest to Tulane 7-2 and beat Alcorn State the next night 12-3. After winning at Lamar 2-1 on Friday the Lions lost Saturday 6-4 and Sunday 4-1. Overall the Lions are 20-9 and 7-5 in the Southland Conference.
SLU dropped two spots to number 16 in the College Baseball Daily poll this week. Joining the Lions in the Mid Major poll is Texas State at number two and Sam Houston State at number 19, giving the SLC three ranked schools. All three are also ranked in the Perfect Game's Top 50 (Texas State #34, SLU #43 and Sam Houston #47).
