Memo to the Southland Conference.....The Lions are Baaaack! Getting back to playing "Lions Baseball" SLU swept #34 Texas State at The Pat this weekend, outscoring the three time defending SLC champs 24-3. With the sweep the Lions move to 11-7 in conference play and into sole possession of 2nd place in the SLC standings. SLU sits at 25-11 overall.
The stat of the weekend was SLU putting up 32 hits and 17 earned runs on the SLC's top pitching staff. While the Lion pitchers held the Bobcats to just three earned runs on 14 hits for the series.
ILB would also like to give a shout out to the Lion Nation who had the The Pat rock'n all weekend. The crowd was loud and rowdy giving the Lions a distinct home field advantage. And a special thanks to the Lion Baseball Alum on top the parking garage....you are the guys who have built the program and the current players look to for that extra motivation. Keep The Pat rock'n from up there. There is nothing better that sitting in The Pat on a Sunday and seeing those brooms waving!
