As we go poll watching the Lions finished the week with a 3-2 record, which included a Southland Conference road series win over UTSA. The Lions spilt their mid-week games losing on the road at Tulane and beating Jackson State at The Pat. SLU is 28-13 overall and 13-8 in the SLC as they received votes in both the NCBWA and USAToday/ESPN Coaches' polls. In the Perfect Game Top 50 SLU moved up 4 spots to number 43.
Southland Conference foes Sam Houston State and Texas-Arlington are making some noise in the polls. Sam Houston is number 26 in the Perfect Game Top 50 this week and now appears in all four major polls (USA Today/ESPN-#25, NCBWA-#27, Collegiate Baseball-#22, & Baseball America-#24). Texas-Arlington is receiving votes in the NCBWA poll and is listed as Five to Watch in the Perfect Game poll.
