What started out as a good game got ugly quick, as Tulane scored six runs in the top of the 5th inning propelling them to a 7-2 mid-week win over the Lions at The Pat on Tuesday night. It was Tulane's first win in Hammond since the 2002 season. With the loss SLU falls to 18-7 on the season. The Lions return to action on Wednesday night against Alcorn State at The Pat. First pitch is set for 6pm.
SLU surrendered 17 hits to the hot hitting Wave, who entered the game hitting .321 as a team. In the Green Wave's big 5th inning, they scored six runs on eight hits breaking open a 1-1 game. At the plate SLU was led by Cody Gougler and Jonathan Pace, who had two hits apiece. Pace (17) and Brock Hebert (19) both extended their hitting streaks.
