ILB Players of the Week - Week 6


Inside Lions Baseball has named Jordan Hymel, Jonathan Pace, and Brock Hebert as the Players of the Week for week 6 of the 2012 season.


Pitcher of the Week - Jr LHP Jordan Hymel
Hymel earned the win in the Lions 4-0 series clinching victory over UT-Arlington on Saturday.  The Lutcher High product gave up no runs on three hits and fanned five Mavericks.  Hymel ran his record to 4-1 on the season to go along with a 1.80 ERA.  He is holding opponents to a .195 batting average.

Co-Hitter of the Week - Sr 1B Jonathan Pace
During the Lions three game sweep over UT-Arlington Pace hit .636 (7-11) with a 3B, 2 RBI's, 3 runs, a sac fly and at least two hits in each game.  The highlight of Pace's weekend was his game winning walk off single in the Lions Friday night 8-7 victory.  Pace also went 3-3 with a BB and a run scored  in Sunday's win, extending his hitting streak to 16 games.

Co-Hitter of the Week - Jr 2B Brock Hebert
Hebert continues to do it all for the Lions.  Over the weekend the hot hitting second baseman was 7-10 (.700) with a 2B, HR, 3 RBI's, 3 BB, 3 runs, and 2 SB leading the Lions to a SLC series sweep of UT-Arlington.  Hebert extended his hitting streak to 18 games by recording three multi hit games.  On Friday night he was 3-3, with a 2B, 2 RBI's, 2 BB, run, and 2 SB.  For the season Hebert is hitting a SLC best .478 with 13 doubles, and 21 stolen bases.
