ILB Players of the Week - Week 5


Inside Lions Baseball has named Jason Greenleaf and Brock Hebert as the Players of the Week for week 5 of the 2012 season.

Pitcher of the Week - So RHP Jason Greenleaf
In the Lions marathon 12 inning victory at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Greenleaf pitched six innings of scoreless relief, striking out a career high eight batters.  Earlier in the week the Covington, LA native pitched three innings of scoreless relief, giving up only two hits to help the Lions to a 4-3 win over Mississippi State at The Pat.  In 10 appearances (18 IP) out of the bullpen, Greenleaf is 1-0 with a 0.50 ERA and is holding opponents to a .190 batting average.
 
Hitter of the Week - Jr 2B Brock Hebert
For the fourth time in five weeks Hebert has been named Hitter of the Week, as the SLC's leading hitter went 10-22 (.455) over the Lions five games this week.  Hebert finished the week with three multi-hit games, three RBIs, two doubles, six runs scored, and four stolen bases.  Hebert's best game of the week was his 4-6 night in the Lions 13-11 extra inning victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, where he had a 2B, BB, SB, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs.
