Lions Drop Series to Lamar

After winning 9 of 11 games and taking two Southland Conference series in a row, the road was not kind to the SLU Lions.  Traveling to Beaumont, TX for a weekend series against rival Lamar, the Lions could not come through with timely hits.  SLU dropped the series two games to one, as they stranded 28 runners over the three game series.  With the series loss the Lions drop to 20-9 overall and 7-5 in the SLC.

Friday night Stefan Lopez became the school's All-Time Saves leader, as he earned his 20th career save in the Lions 2-1 victory.  Cody Gougler provided the extra cushion the Lions would need, as he hit his 2nd home run of the season.

On the weekend SLU out hit the Cardinals 29-16, however leaving runners on base held the Lions back losing 6-4 on Saturday and 4-1 on Sunday.
