It will go down as the most bizarre win in Southeastern history. Trailing 2-1 with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the 8th Jonathan Pace was at the plate with no outs when the umpires halted the action due to lightning in the area.
It was also the second time play had been halted, as there was a 27 minute rain delay in the 6th inning. After much discussion the umpire's decided play could resume. When the teams were told to take the field, Southern head coach Roger Cador refused to bring his Jaguars out. The result was the umpires ruled Southern would fofeit the game. So for now the Lions move to 16-9 on the season.
I am not exactly sure how the stats of the game will be impacted, but as soon I know I will get them posted.
