After playing "Lions Baseball" on Sunday and picking up two wins over Sacred Heart, on Monday night SLU struggled to get timely hits as they went 2-15 with runners in scoring position. The Lions stranded 12 runners on the night as they fell 5-3 to the Pioneers in 10 innings and splitting the four game series. Matt Pittari, Jacob Ott, and Stefan Lopez combined surrendered 5 runs on 12 hits and struck out 12 Pioneers. Pittari, getting his first collegiate start, and Lopez had five K's each.
With the loss the Lions fall to 8-4 on the season and will host UL-Lafayette on Wednesday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm.
