Lions Drop Privateers 11-5

The SLU Lions got off to a sluggish start on Tuesday but finished strong in their 11-5 win over the UNO Privateers, running their record to 14-7 on the season and winning their 2nd consecutive game.

In the first two innings the Privateers picked up five runs on five hits and the Lions committed two errors, as UNO took a a 5-2 lead heading into the 3rd inning.  From that point the Lions bullpen had the Privateers on lock down and the offense got cranked up.  The SLU bullpen allowed one unearned run and held the Privateers to just two hits over the final seven innings.

Offensively the Lions put up 11 runs on 13 hits as seven Lions picked up at least one hit.  Jonathan Pace, who extended his hitting streak to 18 games, lead the way going 4-5 with a 2B and 2 RBIs.  Pace's 18 game hitting streak is tied with Gavin Fingelson for the 3rd longest in program history.
