Junior RHP Brandon Efferson has been named the SLU Male Student Athlete of the Week for the second time this season for his performance against Texas State this past weekend.
Efferson pitched his first complete game this season, scattering nine hits and allowing one run in a 10-1 win over Southland Conference leader Texas State on Friday … improved his record to a Southland Conference-best 7-1 on the season, recording his second complete game of his career and first since defeating Eastern Illinois in the Lions’ second game of the 2009 season … retired the Bobcats in order in the fifth inning and was aided by a Southeastern defense that turned two double plays and made a pair of spectacular catches (both by right-fielder Cody Gougler) in the outfield.
The Business Management Major also received the honor for his 7 inning shutout of Texas-San Antonio back on March 13.
