SLU Beats Alcorn State

The #23 ranked SLU Lions won their 3rd straight game, as they beat Alcorn State 16-3 to remain unbeaten in mid-week games at “The Pat”.  The Lions move to 27-7 on the season.

Joe Sparacino had a huge game at the plate as he went 2-3 with a 2B, HR, and career high 6 RBI’s. Josh Cryer, Chad Gough-Fortenberry, and Torin Lucas each had 2 hits for the Lions. Josh Janway earned his third win of the season as he held the Braves scoreless on 7 hits and struck out 6 in 4 innings of work. Jacob Ott, Cole Catalano, and Joel Sessions came in to pitch in relief. Ott pitched 3 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit and striking out 2. Catalano gave up 2 runs on 3 hits and stuck out 3. Sessions gave up no runs on 1 hit as he came in to pitch the final inning.

SLU continues it 8 game home stand as they face the Alabama Crimson Tide Wednesday night at “The Pat”. First pitch is set for 7:00 pm.
