Players of the Week - Week 10

Inside Lions Baseball has named Josh Cryer and Chris Franklin as the Players of the Week for Week 10 of the 2010 season.

Hitter of the Week - Junior C/3B Josh Cryer
Cryer hit safely in all four games this week as he hit .467 with a 2B, 4 RBI, and 3 runs scored. The Leesville, LA native was hit by 2 pitches pushing his SLC leading total to 16 for the season. Cryer recorded a 2 hit game on Saturday against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, going 2-3 with a RBI and 2 runs scored. He highlighted his week on Sunday by going 3-5 with a 2 run double in the Lions 11-3 win.

Pitcher of the Week - Senior RHP Chris Franklin
After moving from his closer role to Sunday starter, Chris Franklin gave one of his best pitching performances as a Lion. Franklin threw a complete game four hitter in an 11-3 victory over Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Franklin gave up three runs on four hits and struck out seven. The Oneonta, AL native surrendered three hits in the first two innings and only allowed two Islander base runners after that. Franklin lowered his ERA to 2.84 and ran his record to 5-4 on the season to go along with his 7 saves.
