The #29 ranked Southeastern Lions will wrap up a 4 game home stand this weekend with a three game series against the Texas Southern Tigers from the SWAC. The series begins Friday with first pitch scheduled for 6:00. The series resumes on Saturday with a 2:00 first pitch and concludes with a 1:00 start on Sunday.

The Lions will be looking to remain unbeaten on the season as they enter the series as one of the hottest teams in the nation. Their 9-0 record is the best start in school history. With one more victory they will tie the 1997 team with the most consecutive wins in school history. The series with Texas Southern will be the last non-conference set before conference play starts next weekend with Texas-San Antonio coming to the “The Pat”.

SLU enters the weekend hitting .306 as team and scoring more than nine runs a game. Coach Jay Artigues’ club has stolen 20 of 28 bases and have 15 sac bunts, as both lead the Southland Conference. Not to be out done, the Lions pitchers are are also leading the SLC by holding opponents to a .239 BA and sporting a 2.73 staff ERA.

The Tigers sit and 5-6 on the season with wins over Jarvis Christian (2), Jackson State, Mississippi Valley State, and Texas College. Their losses are to Indiana State (3), Jackson State, Sam Houston State, and Texas College.

Both SLU (86) and Texas Southern (80) lead their conferences in runs scored.
