ILB recognizes Cass Hargis and Brandon Efferson as the Players of the Week for the UL-Lafayette and McNeese State games.

HITTER OF THE WEEK: Jr OF CASS HARGIS

Hargis hit .421 over the 4 games this week ripping 2 doubles and 1 triple, scoring 4 times and driving in two runs. He had multiple hits in 3 of the 4 games. And he went 3-5 in the series opener against McNeese driving in the eventual go-ahead run in the Lions 6-5 victory on Friday night.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Jr RHP BRANDON EFFERSON

Efferson is a repeat honoree. His outstanding performance in game two of the McNeese series earned him this recognition. He tossed 8 innings, faced 30 Cowboy hitters, allowed only 4 hits and 1 run scored while striking out three. Do the math….that’s less than 4 batters faced per inning!
