Players of the Week - Week 6

Inside Lions Baseball has named Cass Hargis and Chris Franklin as the Players of the Week for Week 6 of the 2010 season.

Hitter of the Week - Junior OF Cass Hargis
Hargis, who picked up the ILB Hitter of the Week for the 2nd consecutive week, hit .474 during the Lions 4-1 week. The Holy Cross product drove in 7 runs, had 3 2B, 3B, scored 5 runs, and stole 3 bases. In the weekend series against UCA Hargis had two 3 hit games. On Friday he was a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle as he finished the night 3-4 with 4 RBI, 2B, 3B, 2 runs scored and 2 SB. In Sunday’s loss to UCA he was 3-5 with 2 2B.

Pitcher of the Week - Senior RHP Chris Franklin
Franklin picked up two wins on the week as he earned the ILB Pitcher of the Week for the 2nd time this season. On Wednesday night against South Alabama, the Oneonta, AL native tossed 1.2 innings, giving up no runs on 1 hit and striking out 2. Then on Saturday against UCA he pitched 3 strong innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit and striking out 7.
