Rivals.com has recently mentioned the SLU Lions as one of the country’s “Red Hot” teams and gives Lions skipper Jay Artigues some props for the job he is doing in Hammond. Not often does SLU get mentioned in the same breath as Oklahoma, Louisville, TCU, and UCLA. But with their nine game winning streak to start the season and their 29th ranking in the national polls the national spotlight is starting to shine on Hammond.

Southeastern Louisiana – One of the hottest teams from a non-big six conference, the Lions made a huge statement last weekend with a road sweep of Mississippi State. The Lions have a relatively easy schedule coming up, so their record should only improve. What a nice job fifth-year coach Jay Artigues is doing.
